A LETTER from Mom and Dad
My child,
When I get old, I hope you understand and have patience with me
In case I break the plate, or spill soup on the table because I’m losing my eyesight, I hope you don’t yell at me.
Older people are sensitive, always having selfpity when you yell.
When my hearing gets worse and I can’t hear what you’re saying, I hope you don’t call me ‘Deaf!’
Please repeat what you said or write it down.
I’m sorry, my child.
I’m getting older.
When my knees get weaker, I hope you have the patience to help me get up.
Like how I used to help you while you were little, learning how to walk.
Please bear with me, when I keep repeating myself like a broken record, I hope you just keep listening to me.
Please don’t make fun of me, or get sick of listening to me.
Do you remember when you were little and you wanted a balloon? You repeated yourself over and over until you get what you wanted.
Please also pardon my smell. I smell like an old person. Please don’t force me to shower.
My body is weak.
Old people get sick easily when they’re cold. I hope I don’t gross you out.
Do you remember when you were little? I used to chase you around because you didn’t want to shower.
I hope you can be patient with me when I’m always cranky. It’s all part of getting old.
You’ll understand when you’re older.
And if you have spare time, I hope we can talk even for a few minutes.
I’m always all by myself all the time, and have no one to talk to.
I know you’re busy with work.
Even if you’re not interested in my stories, please have time for me.
Do you remember when you were little? I used to listen to your stories about your teddy bear.
When the time comes, and I get ill and bedridden, I hope you have the patience to take care of me.
I’m sorry if I accidentally wet the bed or make a mess.
I hope you have the patience to take care of me during the last few moments of my life.
I’m not going to last much longer, anyway.
When the time of my death comes, I hope you hold my hand and give me strength to face death.
And don’t worry..
When I finally meet our creator, I will whisper in his ear to bless you. Because you loved your Mom and Dad.
Thank you so much for your care.
We love you.
With much love,
Mom and Dad
Mean Mom
Someday when my children are old enough to
understand the logic that motivates a parent, I will
tell them, as my Mean Mom told me: I loved you
enough . . . to ask where you were going, with whom,
and what time you would be home.
I loved you enough to be silent and let you
discover that your new best friend was a creep.
I loved you enough to stand over you for two hours
while you cleaned your room, a job that should have taken 15 minutes.
I loved you enough to let you see anger,
disappointment, and tears in my eyes. Children must
learn that their parents aren't perfect.
I loved you enough to let you assume the
responsibility for your actions even when the
penalties were so harsh they almost broke my heart.
But most of all, I loved you enough . . . to say
NO when I knew you would hate me for it.
Those were the most difficult battles of all. I'm
glad I won them, because in the end you won, too.
And someday when your children are old enough to
understand the logic that motivates parents, you will tell them.
Was your Mom mean? I know mine was. We had the
meanest mother in the whole world! While other kids
ate candy for breakfast, we had to have cereal, eggs, and toast.
When others had a Pepsi and a Twinkie for lunch, we had to eat sandwiches.
And you can guess our mother fixed us a dinner that was
different from what other kids had, too.
Mother insisted on knowing where we were at all
times. You'd think we were convicts in a prison. She
had to know who our friends were, and what we were
doing with them. She insisted that if we said we
would be gone for an hour, we would be gone for an hour or less.

doing with them. She insisted that if we said we
would be gone for an hour, we would be gone for an hour or less.
We were ashamed to admit it, but she had the nerve
to break the Child Labor Laws by making us work We
had to wash the dishes, make the beds, learn to
cook, vacuum the floor, do laundry, empty the trash
and all sorts of cruel jobs. I think she would lie
awake at night thinking of more things for us to do.
She always insisted on us telling the truth, the
whole truth, and nothing but the truth. By the time
we were teenagers, she could read our minds and had
eyes in the back of her head. Then, life was really tough!
Mother wouldn't let our friends just honk the horn
when they drove up. They had to come up to the door
so she could meet them.
While everyone else could
date when they were 12 or 13, we had to wait until we were 16 .
Because of our mother we missed out on lots of
things other kids experienced.
None of us have ever
been caught shoplifting, vandalizing other's
property or ever arrested for any crime. It was all her fault.
Now that we have left home, we are all educated, honest adults. We are doing our best to be mean parents just like Mom was.
I think that is what's wrong with the world today.
It just doesn't have enough mean moms!

Where's my baby's gone..?
What happens to the little Cicak boy I use to hold in my arms?
What happens to the Dodo boy who refuses to leave my side?
What happens to the little round Donut boy who would kiss me
every day and nite and anytime in between?
What happens to that little Cibam boy who would willingly giving me hugs and cuddles in need ?
Where has he gone?
What happens to that little boy who loves me dearly,
who would protect me from harm from those he thinks would steal me,
who would sing to me with some alienatics lyrics just to cheer me up
Where has my baby's gone?
I am now sitting next to a boy who treats me like a stranger.
He treats me like we don't know each other.
I am no more than a maid to him
for what i am just to do his laundry, serve him food & drinks.
Where has my baby's gone?
Now, every time I look at him
I am looking into an accessory permanently attached to his face.
I don't remember giving birth to a little boy with a defect~ Phone butt glued to his face!
Instead of talking, he Whatsapps me now.
I guess the phone IS his new mummy...
Where has my baby's gone?
please come back!
